GENERAL MEETING FOR DECEMBER

"MIRACLES OUTREACH"
Presented by MICHELLE WALKER,
Founder and Executive Director

Motto: Preparing Today's Youth For A Better Tomorrow

"WALKING THE WALK; NOT JUST TALKING THE TALK"

PLEASE JOIN US to LEARN MORE about
WHO we are and WHAT we do
And how YOU can become involved!

What you will find out:

  • How and why we were formed

  • Getting involved

THE BEGINNING...
In 1999, Tyrone & Michelle Walker launched an after-school program that provided supervision, after- school tutoring and mentoring for children in Sulphur Springs. The number of children increased at an unbelievable rate. From these efforts, Miracles Outreach Community Development Center, Inc. was established in 2000 and soon evolved into a non-profit organization. Based upon the varying age groups and recognizing the different levels of "needs", Miracles Outreach branched out and developed "TEENS ON TARGET" (for girls) and "SAVING OUR SONS" (for boys); these programs provided mentors and support for participants.

MOVING ON...
Still promoting the principle of 'Giving Back To The Community', Miracles Outreach Community Development Center, Inc. developed "FRESH START RESIDENTIAL HOME FOR GIRLS" in 2007 and "FRESH START RESIDENTIAL HOME FOR BOYs" in 2009 Yet, another (much needed) branch of community service.

WHO WE SERVE & WHAT WE PROVIDE...
Fresh Start provides a safe, healthy and nurturing home-type environment for youth 12-17 years old who are in the foster care system. Fresh Start also takes great pride in providing personal and academic guidance, mentoring and tutoring by trained staff and volunteers.

The residents are provided well nourished home cooked meals that are approved by a registered dietitian, clothing and personal hygiene and grooming essentials. Training is also provided in the following areas: building self-esteem, realistic goal setting and basic (essential) life skills.

PROGRESS AND RESULTS...
Over a very short period of time, FRESH START RESIDENTIAL HOME FOR GIRLS became a documented and proven catalyst for making innovative changes in the lives of the young girls residing here, as well as the surrounding community. The overall tasks have been very challenging - however, one of the greatest rewards comes through listening to the youth voluntarily express their amazement of the home-like appearance of the home and the true feeling of family.

Michelle E. WalkerABOUT THE SPEAKER...
Michelle E. Walker is the founder and Executive Director of Miracles Outreach Community Development, Inc. and the Fresh Start Residential Homes Program.
She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services and certificates in various areas of youth development and training. She is a certified Life Skills Coach, Workshop Facilitator, Program Developer, and NAACP Youth Director, Michelle is married to Tyrone Walker and has one daughter and one son.

Miracles Outreach is a non-profit (501-c3) organization established in 2000. The mission is to promote restoration of the community by empowering participants to become self-sufficient economically, emotionally and spiritually. Michelle's personal mission is to provide youth, teens, and young adults (males and females) with the tools they need to make positive choices in a negative world. She encourages teens and young adult females and males to become and remain focused on their education and career, to love and believe in themselves, regardless of their circumstances. These missions are being accomplished through various diverse and unique programs developed and implemented by Michelle Walker. In addition to the two Fresh Start Residential Homes for Girls, and Fresh Start Home for Boys, her most recent program implementations include an Alternative Education/GED Program and a home for girls that have been victims of Human Trafficking.

Michelle's belief: God has blessed me with caring heart; this makes it easier for me to reach out and be a blessing to others. She shares her belief that all things are possible through God. She stresses the importance of education and the value of sharing knowledge and experiences with others. Michelle has a humble spirit and is quick to credit God for her many accomplishments and for blessing and allowing her to love, care, help, and share with today's troubled youth. "Miracles" are happening in the Tampa Bay and surrounding communities.

Power Networking:

Power NetworkingPower Networking Luncheon
Power Networking is a very powerful relationship building event. This is a unique opportunity to join dozens of Professionals for one-on-one networking with many other business people in the North Tampa area.

Would you like to meet a month's worth of professional new contacts over lunch? Do you have a service or product that the world MUST hear about? Is your company the best thing since sliced bread? Build new business relationships! Create electric momentum for your business! This is "speed networking" with a twist.

This most effective One-of-a-Kind networking format is as follows. There will be 4 people seated at a table. Each person at the table has the opportunity to tell everyone else at the table about their business or organization. After everyone has spoken at that table then 3 of the 4 people go to a different table and repeat the process. Timers are used to make sure that everyone has equal time to speak and has a chance to go to all tables.

What makes our system better than most is that we provide a different icebreaker (question/topic) to be incorporated into your discussion at each table. We also attempt to have people change tables in a way that they will be speaking to different people each time. The object is to talk to everyone in the room one-on-one and have the opportunity to build business relationships rather than just pass out business cards or do your 30 second elevator speech.

Some Advantages of this format:

  • One-on-One Networking with Everyone in the Room!
  • Build New Business Relationships!
  • Create Electric Momentum for Your Business!
  • Meet and greet in a better, faster, easier way!
  • Leave your 20 second elevator speech at the door!
  • Ice breakers will be provided to give this networking event a twist that will keep everyone interested!
  • Take your networking to a new level!
  • Create dozens of new contacts!
  • Fun, Energizing, Motivating!

Power Networking is a Professional Networking Event that will motivate, energize and leave you with dozens of new contacts. This event is held intermittently throughout the year. Watch your emails and visit this page to find out when the next one will be scheduled.

UPCOMING POWER NETWORKING EVENTS:

Note: There are no Power Networking events scheduled at this time.
