WHAT'S HAPPENING IN FEBRUARY

The Spring of Tampa Bay "THE SPRING OF TAMPA BAY"
Presented by Mary McDonald
Director of Development with The Spring of Tampa Bay

Prevent. Protect. Promote Change.

PLEASE JOIN US to LEARN MORE

MISSION
The mission of The Spring of Tampa Bay, Inc. is to prevent domestic violence, protect victims and promote change in lives, families and communities. Since our founding in 1977, The Spring has provided sanctuary and services to more than 60,000 abused adults and their children.

THE SPRING
THE SPRING is the Department of Children and Families (DCF) certified Domestic Violence Center for Hillsborough County. We are one of the largest of Florida's 42 certified domestic violence centers and the first domestic violence agency in the United States to have an accredited on-site school for resident children.

The Spring's programs and services help victims of domestic violence rebuild their lives and raise awareness to prevent domestic violence from occurring.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Domestic violence is the willful intimidation, assault, battery, sexual assault, or other abusive behavior perpetrated by an intimate partner or family member against another.

Domestic violence affects all communities regardless of age, economic status, race, religion, nationality or educational background. In the United States:

  • 1 in 4 women will experience violence during her lifetime.
  • 3 women per day will die at the hands of their husbands or boyfriends.
  • 15.5 million children live in families in which partner violence occurred at least once in the past year, and seven million children live in families in which severe partner violence occurred.
  • 1 in 5 female high school students are physically/sexually abused by a boyfriend.

PROGRAMS
Our program philosophy is to provide a safe haven for families utilizing an empowerment-based approach. We give victims safe refuge, time to heal, and encouragement and support to move toward a self-determined life. Participants have time to consider options and make an independent choice about how to move toward a peaceful life.

SERVICES
Services are free of charge and include:

  • 24-Hour Crisis Hotline
  • Emergency Shelter
  • Incredible Kids Program
  • Outreach Services
  • Transitional Housing
  • Education and Awareness Programs
  • Social change program
  • Special programs and services

Power Networking:

Power NetworkingPower Networking Luncheon
Power Networking is a very powerful relationship building event. This is a unique opportunity to join dozens of Professionals for one-on-one networking with many other business people in the North Tampa area.

Would you like to meet a month's worth of professional new contacts over lunch? Do you have a service or product that the world MUST hear about? Is your company the best thing since sliced bread? Build new business relationships! Create electric momentum for your business! This is "speed networking" with a twist.

This most effective One-of-a-Kind networking format is as follows. There will be 4 people seated at a table. Each person at the table has the opportunity to tell everyone else at the table about their business or organization. After everyone has spoken at that table then 3 of the 4 people go to a different table and repeat the process. Timers are used to make sure that everyone has equal time to speak and has a chance to go to all tables.

What makes our system better than most is that we provide a different icebreaker (question/topic) to be incorporated into your discussion at each table. We also attempt to have people change tables in a way that they will be speaking to different people each time. The object is to talk to everyone in the room one-on-one and have the opportunity to build business relationships rather than just pass out business cards or do your 30 second elevator speech.

Some Advantages of this format:

  • One-on-One Networking with Everyone in the Room!
  • Build New Business Relationships!
  • Create Electric Momentum for Your Business!
  • Meet and greet in a better, faster, easier way!
  • Leave your 20 second elevator speech at the door!
  • Ice breakers will be provided to give this networking event a twist that will keep everyone interested!
  • Take your networking to a new level!
  • Create dozens of new contacts!
  • Fun, Energizing, Motivating!

Power Networking is a Professional Networking Event that will motivate, energize and leave you with dozens of new contacts. This event is held intermittently throughout the year. Watch your emails and visit this page to find out when the next one will be scheduled.

UPCOMING POWER NETWORKING EVENTS:

Note: There are no Power Networking events scheduled at this time.

Check your emails and this website for more information as it becomes available.
