All meetings/events below are open to the
public unless indicated otherwise in the description of the specific
meeting or event. The North Tampa Chamber's policy is to welcome
guests to join us for up to three (3) meetings, any combination as long as
they are open to the public, to get to know us and then guests are asked
to join to continue participating in the meetings/events.
What an opportunity to get to know and
build relationships with others who reside and do business in the North
Tampa area! You can make acquaintances; meet interesting persons and
open doors you may have never imagined.
Board/Business
Meetings:
The Chamber business meetings are open to
Chamber members ONLY and are held the first Thursday of each month
except in July. These meetings usually are held at lunchtime. Lunch is
ordered directly from the menu and payment is made to the restaurant.
The direction of the chamber is decided at
these meetings. Decisions and plans are made concerning activities,
events, membership, community involvement, administration, finances and
more. The Officers, Directors and Associate Directors lead this meeting.
Committee Chairs are asked to join these meetings and to give updates on
their committee progress.
ALL other current Chamber members are
encouraged to participate in these business meetings to share their ideas,
comments and suggestions for the future of the chamber. If you are a North

General
Meetings (Open to the Public):
At the general meeting each month, speakers address topics of economic
interest, social well being, business skills and other subjects of
interest to members. Sign-in is available beginning at 11:00am.
The format
for this meeting begins with informal networking followed with a buffet
lunch beginning at 11:30am and the program at approximately noon. These
meetings usually adjourn around 1:00pm.
The chamber promotes networking as an opportunity for relationship
building with business neighbors. All attendees are encouraged to bring
brochures and/or promotional items for the display table for others to
pick up. Don't forget your business cards to give to those with whom you
would like to make future contact.
Consider donating an item for the drawing. You will be recognized for your
donation and it is a great opportunity to promote your business. All
donated items are appreciated.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER...
Jayne Jenkins has a passion for helping
others sharpen their leadership skills.
Over the past 23 years Jayne has gained
extensive international experience and expertise to develop her own
leadership capabilities and her ability to develop the leadership
effectiveness of teams and individuals. Her experience in Fortune 500
companies has led to Jayne's expertise in coaching (leaders, teams and
individuals), customer focus, strategic planning and analytics. More
recently, she has studied and done extensive work around the importance and
skill of networking, mentoring and the development of women leaders.
During her extensive career Jayne Jenkins has
flourished in multiple Pharmaceutical Leadership roles and has successfully
launched many prescription brands (including Nexium >$5bn). She has turned
business regions around through her creation of effective teams and the
enhancement of operational systems. Jayne's leadership style is consistently
inspirational and collaborative.
Jayne Jenkins is a citizen of the both the US
and the UK and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Birmingham,
England. She is a "life-long learner" and has consistently continued her
development since. For twenty three years she worked for AstraZeneca and
Sanofi-Aventis Pharmaceuticals, more recently as National Speaker Management
Leader and South East Regional Sales Director.
Over the last two years Jayne has played an
integral part in the creation of the "Healthcare Business Woman's
Association" (HBA) Florida. In her role as the Market Research Director she
collaborated with peer women leaders to successfully create this new Florida
chapter in record time. Her success was recognized by "HBA International"
and Jayne is now promoted to FL Chapter Vice-President. Jayne continues her
efforts to inspire and help other women in healthcare to become stronger and
more effective leaders.
Jayne serves on charitable association boards
and is an active contributor to local networks (Working Women of Tampa Bay
and Tampa Bay Technology Forum). In addition Jayne is an experienced Yoga
practitioner and has followed her passion and entrepreneurial spirit by
creating "YOGA JAYNE Inc." As a Yoga teacher and member of the Suncoast Yoga
Teacher's Association, she connects the critical components of a strong
mind, body and leadership to enable others to maximize their success.

Networking
Luncheons:
Networking Lunches are held twice a month. One is held the third
Thursday of each month. The other is held the fourth Thursday of each
month with the exception of November and December due to holidays.
Lunch is ordered from a select menu and payment is made directly to
the restaurant.
Sign in and informal networking begins at 11:30am at each. Around noon,
everyone is seated and each person present has an opportunity to introduce
themselves and tell a little about their business and themselves to the
entire group.
All attendees are encouraged to bring brochures and/or promotional items

Power
Networking:
Power Networking Luncheon
Power Networking is a very powerful relationship building event. This is a
unique opportunity to join dozens of Professionals for one-on-one
networking with many other business people in the North Tampa area.
Would you like to meet a month's worth of professional new contacts over
lunch? Do you have a service or product that the world MUST hear about? Is
your company the best thing since sliced bread? Build new business
relationships! Create electric momentum for your business! This is "speed
networking" with a twist.
This most effective One-of-a-Kind networking format is as follows. There
will be 4 people seated at a table. Each person at the table has the
opportunity to tell everyone else at the table about their business or
organization. After everyone has spoken at that table then 3 of the 4
people go to a different table and repeat the process. Timers are used to
make sure that everyone has equal time to speak and has a chance to go to
all tables.
What makes our system better than most is that we provide a different
icebreaker (question/topic) to be incorporated into your discussion at
each table. We also attempt to have people change tables in a way that
they will be speaking to different people each time. The object is to talk
to everyone in the room one-on-one and have the opportunity to build
business relationships rather than just pass out business cards or do your
30 second elevator speech.
