Chamber
Committees
- Membership
This committee recruits new members and functions to retain existing
members. Members of this committee do membership drives, select incentives
for existing members, provide orientation to new members along with the
Ambassador committee. They arrange Event Participation in other
organizational events such as exhibits and business and community fairs,
ribbon cuttings and grand openings and more. These allow us to provide
information to businesses and organizations concerning the benefits of
belonging to the Chamber.
- Ambassador
This committee organizes members to personally contact other members to
invite them to meetings and inform them of chamber events and activities.
They meet and greet at the general meeting and provide orientation to new
members along with the Membership committee. They also assemble a welcome
packet for new members. This is done by including marketing materials from
existing members as an introduction for the new member and free
advertisement for the existing member.
- Program
This committee chooses topics of interest and locates speakers alternating
between community awareness and useful business knowledge for the General
Meeting. They are responsible for getting a program article for the
newsletter from the speaker or for writing the article. They provide
follow up with the speaker and coordinate the room set up and menu.
- Fundraising
Committee members organize and promote a number of fund-raising activities
throughout the year determined by the Board of Directors. These activities
fund the many community involvement programs, monthly programs, special
events, and the chamber operating expenses.
- Public Relations
This committee provides press releases for the media, assists with other
marketing flyers and brochures. This committee also handles the group
email. Newsletter sub committee does layout, composes articles, updates
calendar and announcements and secures newsletter advertisement. It also
arranges for the publication of the monthly newsletter, which is
mailed to members and distributed locally plus published online. Website
sub committee coordinates changes and updates with the webmaster and also
maintains a current membership directory, which is published
bi-annually.
- Government Interests
Involvement in community affairs, educational projects, governmental
issues, revitalization of the area, tax advantages for businesses and
beautification projects are the highlights of this committee’s work.
